Annual list prices are $10.99 for Asana Starter and $24.99 for Asana Advanced. ClickUp Unlimited is $7 and ClickUp Business is $12. Monthly billing costs more.

UK GDPR, residency and sub-processors
The statute is the Data Protection Act 2018, which the UK GDPR sits alongside (legislation.gov.uk). Nothing in it says personal data must stay in the UK. The controller carries the duties.
The ICO's UK GDPR guidance sets out accountability and transfer expectations. Residency is a risk decision. A UK or EU region cuts transfer paperwork. A US region can be lawful with an international data transfer addendum.

Pricing on UK terms
Worked example, using list prices: 12 Asana Starter seats at $10.99 per seat per month is $131.88 a month. At an assumed £0.79 to the dollar, that is about £104.19 a month, or £1,250.28 a year. Add VAT at 20% for cash cost.

ClickUp Unlimited for 12 seats is $84 a month. At the same rate, that is about £66.36 a month, or £796.32 a year. VAT applies on top unless you can reclaim it.
Check the minimum seat count and the billing currency. If you are billed in dollars, the sterling cost moves with the exchange rate. VAT-registered buyers can usually reclaim VAT, so compare net figures.
Put three figures beside each other: net annual cost, cash cost including VAT, and the cost of moving the workspace elsewhere.
Where other tools fit
Trello uses boards and cards, with a free tier and paid plans from $5 per seat per month billed annually. Monday.com uses visual boards, with paid plans from $9 per seat per month and a three-seat minimum. Notion combines docs and databases, with a free personal plan and paid plans from $8 per seat per month. Jira targets software teams, with a free tier for up to 10 users and Standard from $7.53 per user per month. Basecamp charges a flat $299 per month for unlimited users.

- Log every sub-processor and set a review date.
- Agree retention and export rules before anyone creates a project.
- Switch on single sign-on, two-factor authentication and app approvals, following NCSC cloud security guidance.
- Rehearse the exitexport a workspace and an audit log, then open both elsewhere.
Pilot with one team for a month before buying seats for everyone. Compare exported records rather than impressions.
